The picture was obviously taken on a beautiful day in an area of many large pines, yet the sky could tell us that later a storm could be brewing or has recently broken up or maybe the clouds are just passing by. It really doesn't matter, for what really grabs me is the cloud itself and the play of the light and its rays, modified by the impact the cloud has on the sun behind it. The cloud shows me something that could be very ominous. The lower portion is darker, while the upper while having darkness but with a lighter tinge, also shows a possible face. It's a face, however, that doesn't to my eye show anything looking like a creature I recognize, so maybe it is something mythical, like the head of a dragon or ancient dinosaur with its long snout searching for food and a scaly top to its head. Whatever it could be, it is clearly venturing out into the light.
Next, we have the different colors in the sky, from a deeper blue to the left, changing to an almost milky white on the right. Note the clarity of the stronger rays as they look like spotlights shining out over the world. The brighter, lighter sky has not yet been impacted by the dragon or demon of darkness. Others might not see it, but it really is of no matter, for day dreaming under a beautiful sky is just an exercise of using your own imagination. Imagination can bring many different results to many different people, it just depends on our own perspective applied to the things we observe..
As I put the pieces of the puzzle together from my perspective, the picture shows me a brewing conflict between Good and Evil. The dark and the creature who appears to be moving out of it represents Evil. While the bright rays of the sun and the lighter skies resulting from it represent Good. As the creature gets out into the bright light, good will ultimately destroy it, just like the heat of sunlight burns off the clouds by evaporating the moisture. It doesn't mean it will be easy or quick, because other dragons could float into the picture yet unseen. Ultimately, however the warmth of Light will prevail.
If we are of faith, this is easy to relate to our own lives. The Light of Love, Warmth and Grace will always prevail over the Darkness of Evil, Hate and Envy. In fact, any person of good heart and kindness should come to the same conclusion. But as long as there are those who prefer Evil over Good walking on earth, the battle will continue. Only Love in its finest sense, an unselfish love which is the ultimate result of goodness, coming from the heart without conditions, can conquer all. Let the Light of Love shine in our lives always.
That is what this beautiful picture says to me and I thank Hazel Frick for sending it.
