Now an American citizen, Ms. Gabriel's current cause is making sure that Americans know the plight of devout Christians in the Middle East and other places where Islamic haters are trying to kill them. She is also an outspoken friend of Israel. Of recent note is the situation in Iraq where a Christian presence of over 2,000 years in Mosul has nearly been eliminated.
Mosul is just one of the Iraqi cities with a large former Christian presence, but it is one of great prominence. Within its city boundaries are the ruins of Ninevah, one of the great cities of antiquity and the former seat of the Assyrian Empire. And now most of her historic treasures have been destroyed and the Christians are gone.
A decade ago Mosul had a Christian population of about 60,000, cut in half over the following ten years and today, after the ISIS terrorists started their purge, perhaps zero. Christian homes were marked in read with the letter N (stands for Nasrani, the word the terrorists use to describe Christians) and told they either had to covert to Islam, pay a huge tribute in cash, or die. Most fled to the Kurdish region, but many of them were stripped of all of their possessions except the clothes on their back and many others were killed, tortured and sexually abused. This all was the responsibility of, as Obama calls it, proponents of the religion of peace. Shia Muslims also suffered a horrible fate as ISIS Sunnis don't consider Shiites acceptable to the faith.
So where will this end? Will Christianity in the Middle East totally disappear? Will the mounting Islamic extremists continue forward beyond Iraq and overwhelm other Muslim countries that disapprove of their actions? What about Israel: will the push that we currently see from Hamas be joined at the hip with other fanatics and overwhelm her borders?
Well, we don't know the answers yet, but we do know one thing. The President of the United States has clearly decided that he has no concern for the suffering of Christians and Jews in the region and he will do nothing to deal with the atrocities of the Islamic hordes. How do I know this? Frankly it's easy and it comes from his lack of any concern for Christians and Jews in the region and his silence (in the case of the Christians) and his constant demands that Israel, the home and heart of Judaism, halt actions despite being the recipient of hundreds of incoming rockets daily. Actions speak louder than words, Mr. President, and your lack of action and your shooting from the hip with your words is atrocious.
Friends, Israel is the only true democratic government in the Middle East and she is the home of the base for the beliefs and traditions from which the Christian began. And Christianity, a true religion of peace and the principal belief system of early America, seeks peace and love everywhere. Both of these great religions, strong on moral code and law are now under great assault from the hordes of hate that are Islamic terrorism, and yet the President strangely leans toward that cause.
Americans, stand strong and demand that our government offer help to Middle Eastern Christians that are under siege. If we want to welcome those who are truly refugees, we should do so for the Iraqi and other Middle Eastern Christians who are dying daily instead of a trumped up brigade of Central Americans who are being used by Obama and the cartels to destabilize America. And as for Israel: we need to support this civilized and worthy state and our friend as the last bastion of stability in the Middle East, otherwise the powder keg is likely to show up on our doorstep soon.
Stand and speak out for God and Christ, America, or we won't be standing at all for long. Silence is complicity.
