Once again, Mr. Obama proved that everything he does is always about him. During his eulogy he spent an inordinate amount of time talking about his favorite topic, himself. He compared himself to Mandela and spoke of how Mandela was the one who helped him determine what he wanted to do in life. Oh, please, Obama spent his life being "molly coddled" by many people, including the noted Communist, Franklin Marshall Davis, who helped him mold his left wing views. He was given entry into expensive private schools and always had someone to pave his way, allowing him to easily get ahead by comparison to most of his race. And, remarkably, all of his records have been sealed so we really don't know the entire truth.
But what was really disgusting about his visit was his behavior while in attendance during the ceremony. A somber occasion and observed as such by all of those seated around him, Mr. Obama made a complete fool of himself for all the world to see. He "yucked" it up by flirting with the attractive leader of Denmark, flirting with her like a high school boy who has eyes for a cheerleader. He involved himself in taking "selfie" pictures and giggled and laughed while First Lady Michelle Obama displayed a face of scorn and displeasure. It was just another disgraceful performance by a man who just doesn't care while the nation's standing the world over continues to plummet. I certainly have no long lost love for the First Lady either, but this is no way for a married man to treat his wife. Can you imagine if this had been George W.Bush?
And, to top things off, he bowed and shook the hands of Raul Castro, a truly brutal and evil man who, with his brother, Fidel, turned Cuba into the cesspool that it is today. Yet Mr. Obama thought he was worthy of recognition. Oh, that's right, maybe Castro set the standard that Obama is trying so hard to apply here at home?
And I can't close this commentary without saying a word about Nelson Mandela. While he did limit his service to only one term and he moderated his views significantly while serving, we can't talk of the legacy of this man without looking at the whole person. Mandela spent twenty-seven years in prison for being a terrorist. He was responsible for thousands of people being butchered during the turbulent years of strife and turmoil. His "work" in this regard was performed as a leader of the African National Congress, a body which used extreme violence against any black who was seen as a supporter of the white government, including many young men and women. The term "Mandela Necklace" was coined for one of their practices, the burning to death of victims by torching them off with a rubber tire around their neck, the "necklace". So I think all should temper their admiration for this departed man with the truth while recognizing that desperate people sometimes resort to desperate measures. Whatever you believe, I don't think he deserved to have the honor of the flag being flown at half staff for him when our country didn't even recognize the death of Margaret Thatcher of England and Mr. Obama didn't bother to attend her funeral.
I'll leave you with this. Do you think Michelle and Barack had a happy and fun evening after the event when they were in private later? I'll bet the gloves came off and the fur was flying. Only the Secret Service knows for sure.
Let's get to work, America, and try and find a man to lead us who is dignified and lives with honor the next time around. In the meantime, God bless you and God bless America.
