Levin is one of the principal sources of the information we will discuss tonight on North Florida Writer Live, the issue of anchor babies and the Fourteenth Amendment and the faulty views that so many pass on as fact about it. Birthright citizenship was never intended to be part of the citizenship clause of the amendment and we'll discuss it's creation and what the prime mover for it, Senator Jacob Howard of Michigan, wrote about it at the time of its creation in 1866. It was designed to make sure that the slaves who had been freed as a result of the Civil War were also afforded citizenship, not as an easy way for illegals to gain the privilege merely by crossing the border immediately before having children.
Senator Howard and several other Senators discussed in depth the purpose and meaning of the amendment's provisions with emphasis placed on the inclusion of the words "in the jurisdiction of" as it applies to the amendment. Jurisdiction is the key to the truth and it will be a principle focus of our comments tonight.
I hope you will join my discussion with Mark Collier tonight at 9 as we try to set the record straight on the true meaning and purpose of the Fourteenth Amendment. It's time to apply both truth and common sense and end the anchor baby fiasco that has become such a burden on the taxpaying citizens of the United States. The show will also be available on demand upon completion. Here's the link:
