- Leviticus 26:4 (ESV)
Down here in North Florida, sometimes the rainy season can be year round, but then again, sometimes it can be dry year round as well. Recently we went through a nearly four year drought ( a little rain here, a little rain there, but not anything close to normal) and everyone was begging for rain. But now that we are getting rain by the bucket loads, some are complaining, especially when it is a weekend and they have outdoor activities planned, such as this waterlogged weekend. So it is wise to count our blessings when we have them and conserve for those times that we don't.
God understands what we need, but sometimes he needs to teach us the hard way so that we will listen. But then again, when we live in an environment of convenience, we often take for granted that the kitchen tap will always provide water and that hardships and shortfalls are things that happen somewhere else.
Today on Sunday Morning Coming Down on North Florida Writer Live (blogtalkradio.com/northfloridawriterlive) we will talk about the blessings of rain, as well as the hardship of drought, and what they can teach us about what is really important. Take time to observe and listen for a message from God's nature. If you believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, his natural wonders can provide us with a masterpiece.
Hope you'll tune in this morning at 7:30 ET. If not, it will be available on demand shortly after the live program ends. We'll have a short message, some good music, and a brief prayer. It's a good way to start your Sunday whether you are attending church or not. Or if you just don't know what you believe but want to check out the Christian faith, it might be a good place to start.
