Here's the deal. We are in an election that by all estimates should be a game changer. If Conservatism is ever going to show it's push to the forefront again it needs to get going big time in this election. And the problem is that most politicians try to tell you that they represent traditional viewpoints on the issues in America yet time and time again we find out after it's too late they don't. So what can we do to make Tuesday a success by doing what's best for America, not necessarily what's best for a politician's career?
The simple answer is to vote based upon what the candidate has done and not what he says. In the case of incumbents it's quite easy; check a voting record site such as Conservative Review (web: conservativereview.com) where you can look up the records on Senate and House candidates from all states. This is the quickest way to find out what his or her record is all about.
In the case of a first time candidate, check his or her bio and see what kind of lifestyle they have and what their interests are. If there is not enough information for you there, google the name and you might find news articles and other sources to give you information. As a last resort, call the candidate's campaign headquarters and just ask a question. A good one would be something specific where you can follow up by asking where you can find evidence that they actually did what you are being told. If they hum and haw or don't want to answer, then you know that the answer is probably something that they'd really rather not talk about. That's a dead giveaway.
Think about it. We have elected a President twice who has refused to release most of his record, from transcripts in school to his record as a legislator. That should have been enough to bring out questions, but the dumbed down society that we are unfortunately in today doesn't seem to care. For those of us who do care, we've got to somehow turn this attitude around.
Tuesday is important, it could make or break our country, And while I know that there are a number of candidates running as Republicans who aren't nearly as conservative as me, I know that they are 100% better than the Democrats who all vote in lock step with Obama. So please, please do a little homework and vote for candidates most likely to do what is needed today in America. And after the election, hold them accountable for it.
Okay, that's enough of the serious stuff, I've said my piece so now go out and have a great weekend. Then come Monday let's get back to doing what we can to bring our country back to sanity on Tuesday. And pray that God will answer our prayers. He's the One who can really help and he's waiting for us to ask. God bless you all.
