All Bible-fearing Christians know that the Nation of Israel is special to God. When Abraham began the struggles to found the nation, God promised Him that his descendants would eventually inherit the Promised Land, and despite the trials and tribulations her people would go through, they were especially blessed. We Christians find our belief originating here. Not only does our original baseline of God's law come from the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament, but our ultimate gift of eternal life comes through the death of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who himself was born into this world and lived His earthly life as a Jew from the lineage of King David.
And now we learn that the Administration of Barack Obama has stated that the Palestinians no longer have to accept the Nation of Israel as a Jewish State. He has unilaterally stated this without regard to the security of Israel and her role as central to the fate of mankind as decreed by God. He has taken it upon himself to replace the promise of God to His chosen people and I fear this might be the mark of the beginning of the End Times.
This behavior is nothing new for our President. After all, remember when he shunned Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House while he rudely went off to his private quarters for a private dinner? Or have we forgotten his directive that Israel should not build housing near the West Bank on her own sovereign land? This President has no conception of the importance to the religious heritage of an overwhelming majority of Americans and instead does everything in his power to bring God's chosen ones down.
Furthermore, Israel is the only nation in the region that we have always been able to count on to maintain stability. While it is true that she requires financial support from us to do so, she is also one of the few allies we have who willingly fights her own battles and sheds her own precious blood. To send a message that we do not value her as a friend is much, much more dangerous a signal to send than our non-response to the Ukrainian crisis.
American Christians, it's time for us to stand up and speak out loudly for our friends in Israel. They are a nation of six million surrounded by over three hundred million who truly hate them and want them destroyed. And if America plays a part in their destruction, the wrath of God will surely come down with a heavy hand on us. Be concerned and be fearful of what the Scriptures tell us.
Pray for America, Israel and true peace in the world. And pray for us to approach such issues from a position of strength, not weakness, for our enemies always stand ready to exploit our weakness. And may God infect our souls with the Spirit to do the right thing. We must honor Him and live up to our obligations for like everything else, His memory is everlasting.
