Senator Ted Cruz, one of the most articulate senators in Washington, decided it was time to stand up for the people in a way that couldn't be missed. Striding to the floor to speak on the disaster which is the Import-Export Bank, the young Texan took on the Majority Leader, hapless Mitch McConnell, stating that McConnell has lied to him and his fellow Republican senators regarding back room dealing to reauthorize the crony-capitalist bank. Not only that, but he went through a number of the issues where McConnell had refused to honor his commitments made on the campaign trail and had, in effect, taken the same actions that previously were taken by the previous Majority Leader, Democrat Harry Reid.
Once completed, the Republican Establishment and the mainstream media, immediately as if on cue took to the airwaves to condemn Cruz, saying he is not a team player and he is interrupting the cooperative attitude of the Senate. The United States Senate is a body that is supposed to be highly deliberative which purposely requires full debate and time before bills are passed on the way to becoming law. But McConnell, just like his Democratic predecessor, has done just the opposite by jamming legislation through which allows no real debate or amendments by sitting senators. And largely all of the legislation has been favorable to Barack Obama despite McConnell's comments to the contrary.
So Cruz called him on it, with excellent and clear oratory knowing full well that the Establishment will now work hard to try and stymie him and destroy his career. It's kind of ironic that on this same day the Chamber of Commerce fired a missile at conservatives by saying that the organization would work to primary all conservatives.
My response to that is go ahead, Chamber. We know America is not your first interest and that you are dedicated to cheap labor with no regard for working Americans. No, you are just part of the group that supports a New World Order and wants to destroy American sovereignty so that your elites can make more money by selling out America, as you are currently doing on the immigration issue.
Isn't it also interesting that Ted Cruz, courageous and true, is the only one of the Republican presidential hopefuls who has kept silent on Trump, seeing his efforts as a natural reaction to the lawlessness that is currently seen in the surge of illegals into America. Maybe the two "Mr. T's", Trump and Ted (Cruz) ought to combine their efforts in support of the America that most of us want to see returned. I think they would take America by storm.
So God bless you, Senator Cruz and Mr. Trump, for standing up against the outrage that is today's Washington political operation. It's time to take America back. God bless America and may Old Glory ever fly proudly over the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
