The SPLC blog site refers to questions about Kessler's background, some of which came from a public hearing he attended. He was posing a comment at a Charlottesville public hearing when another attendee, a former Occupy Wall Street activist, spoke with him and said she was sorry for the way she had treated him when they were both with Occupy. And this comment has brought with it comments from Zerohedge.com and Breitbart that he was an Obama supporter prior to November 2016. Could this mean that he is just a troublemaker in general or could he be a plant designed to stir up the trouble in Charlottesville to benefit anarchy in general? We don't know and we may never know, but it is an interesting twist coming from an unlikely source.
Let's just hope that the investigation being conducted by the FBI and the Justice Department looks at the Charlottesville situation in depth and reviews carefully the actions of all present. The fact that children and women were shown on video streaming from Emancipation Park, site of the cancelled Unite the Right rally, with blood gushing from wounds to the head while police stood by watching is a travesty. That should never be the stand taken by police in the midst of violence and we deserve the truth about why that happened and who was involved.
When the President of the United States gets criticized for telling the truth, not just kowtowing to the media position, it is counter to the expectations of this nation. That violence emanated from both sides is clear and those streaming out of the park included both supporters of the Unite the Right effort and others who simply wanted to show their support for the Robert E. Lee statue which honors a man who is revered by most native Virginians. And if we continue on this slippery slope of looking one way and not the other, and it's getting more slippery every day, we'll rue the day when Americans spend their free time as prisoners in their own homes. They'll be afraid to venture out into the wasteland of violence and destruction which the media has helped to create.
Be careful what you wish for, America, you might just get it.
