This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. - Genesis 2:24 (NLT)
When God above completed His creation and created man and woman to perpetuate the earth, that action was a special and cherished thing that we humans were never meant to take lightly or casually. And the story of the creation itself should make that abundantly clear and in no place is that more evident that in the two verses from Genesis shown above. Looking at these two different Bible verses that are tied to one another, it is clear that God created man and a woman for the procreation of people to inherit the earth and in doing so, He gave His blessing for a man and a woman to make a commitment to each other for that primary reason. It is a commitment that requires work, loyalty and devotion to make it work and couples who have decided to live life together as one in that way receive that special and joyous gift of intimate love to share and use to seal their love and keep them together as one for all time. It is really just as simple as that.
So, where do we find ourselves today in this regard in modern society? Well, in my humble opinion, we find ourselves as a society as one that has spurned and rejected God and His laws and His trust in us and in no way is it more prevalent than the way we treat the concept of one man and one woman made one for a lifetime. We have slapped God in the face with our moral relativism, having the audacity to tell God that what we want and desire is more important than what He expects of us. We have become not only promiscuous in our behavior, we have even openly accepted violations of God's laws of nature as if they are the norm, rather than the exception. Now I say this not wishing to try and control what others do when done so without directly impacting me, but only trying to make it clear that God does not accept our new definition of normal, for we have turned his laws upside down. And while He is a loving God, He can also be very vengeful when He finds it necessary and we should heed His warnings.
As a Christian man, a man who loves God and Jesus and hopes to live as He wants me to, I also know I am a lowly sinner, trapped in the human body on an earth where it is impossible for any of us to be without sin. And my positions and take on what is expected of me are based on my beliefs based on faith and using my free will to choose. I have no ability or desire to force anyone else to do anything with their choices, but I also know that they should have no wish or ability to make me accept their own lifestyle which I find repugnant. And in these days of political correctness as opposed to truth, I find myself in a place where they not only think that right , but think it is their right to try and force me to pledge an open acceptance of their views. I cannot nor will I accept that fate. I will pray for them, never take force against them and allow them to live as they wish provided they just leave me alone. To accept what they would ask would mean I openly defy the laws of God and His nature and that is not something I could ever do.
Having said that, should society so change its ways to a point where the majority of it feels as they do, we will find ourselves so opposite from the Law of the Hebrews and the teachings of Jesus that God will, once and for all, turn away from with his disgust from us and scorn our society and its actions. And the very land which was founded under Him will, instead, find itself in the dustbin of iniquity. So, my good Christian friends, I hope you will consider what I have said and think about these words and then decide for yourselves what is godly and what is not. Should you agree with me, then it is imperative that you stand for God's laws and principles and what they tell you, not by trying to force your way on others, but by making clear any rule or law which violates the standards of God is always inferior to those of God. After all, we do call him the Almighty for a reason, don't we? Now go have a wonderful and joyous Lord's Day.
