We humans are so fortunate and so blessed, for no matter what we do, God still loves us. He puts up with us despite our weaknesses and frailties, for he knows that it is impossible for us to live with the perfection he displays and we therefore need His continued help. For those of us who don't know God, it may not be something that concerns them, but they should, but we Christians who do are obligated to put Him first. This means just what it says and if we trust him, we have to believe that if we do that, He will take good care of us and those who we love and care about as well.
To accomplish this trust, God gave us some special tools to overcome the temptations of this world and to fulfill us with what we need, not what we want. He gave us His Son, Jesus, who through his death gave us forgiveness. And Jesus in turn gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us in His absence, yet we still repeat those mistakes. This is caused by our improper use of free will and free will is the element which, if used the proper way, will give us the strength to overcome the errors of our ways. And what is it that using good free will bring us that makes things work as they should? Quite simply, it's God's truth, for God's truth is in fact all truth itself. God is truth. Everything he does is truth and when we are captured by the Holy Spirit and follow directions, truth will come to us through practice which will help us discern. When we finally understand that only God can provide real truth, we will find the answer to all things and it gets better with practice. Gaining the Truth is what will set us free.
But what about those who don't have faith and what can they do to attain it and thereby get to the Truth? Well, even though they may not know it, all mankind has a conscience, a basic instinct about right and wrong. But if not taught how to see it within us due to bad upbringing, an evil environment or other strong impediments to goodness, it can be smothered out. Yet, it can come back if those conditions change and sometimes even when things get to their worst do we finally realize we need something else. In such times, when we are at rock bottom, we can search within ourselves and find that conscience and by opening it and wanting to change, the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of God, can be activated. We don't need to know the why, we just have to know that God can do all things and such action is just one of them. And when that comes about, the yearning to learn more through thought, word and prayer, yes prayer even when we don't know what prayer is, can be generated. And it's one of the reasons it is important to surround ourselves with good, and not evil, people who can encourage us as well.
So, we should never give up hope and by actively seeking the Good, we will find the Truth. Truth in its fullest form is God. All things from and of God are truth and they are pure and complete. His truth will provide real answers and solutions and if we just accept that, we will find that the more we absorb truth, the more we learn and the better we become. Truth is real love, life and happiness. Truth is God. Work hard to master it and we'll find the keys to the Kingdom. Give it a try, we have everything to gain and, without it, we have everything to lose. Seek Truth and win. Our eternity depends on it.
Dear Lord, We thank you for real Truth, for Truth is the essence of who you are and what we need. Help us to always remember that and how it can only be possible with you as the guidance and direction for our lives. Amen.
