During this period Jesus left Galilee and slowly traveled toward Jerusalem via the Jericho route. Jericho, the ancient city which Joshua conquered, remains today as one of the oldest cities on earth and the road from Jericho to Jerusalem, while only fifteen miles in straightline distance, is a winding, rocky and rough hewn roadway that climbs in elevation from -800 feet to +2600 feet over those fifteen miles. It was a full day's walk and, remember, in Bible times highwaymen and robbers were always a threat.
Jesus and His Disciples traveled from the ancient city to Bethany, a small town near the summit of the Mount of Olives on Friday evening and remained there until the triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the following Sunday. We'll talk about this period on the program, airing no later than Sunday morning. It just fills in a few more blanks concerning Jesus and his mission accomplishment heading toward His final days.
We hope you'll join us for the message, scripture reading, Christian music and prayer. This time of year is special to all of us who are believing Christians. Never forget the sacrifice that He made for us. Here' the link:
