We humans all have a big problem and it is because of that very humanity itself. We suffer under the human condition which means we are susceptible to sin. Whenever we want something too much and we allow ourselves to surrender the Spirit to our wants, we find ourselves committing sin. It can be a small thing, or something major, but either way, in the eyes of God it is sin. And sometimes try as we must, we succumb to our desire and take the plunge into sin and at first it might seem wonderful, but over time the error of our ways catches up with us and what was joy becomes an albatross negatively impacting our heart. But yes, we can recover but it is costly and it would have been so glorious had we instead told ourselves to just say NO.
What we must never forget is that God gave Satan free reign of the airwaves around our earth to tempt us. God has done so not to be cruel, but to test our ability to live by the free will he has given us and to help us use it in a way that is pleasing to Him. Sadly, no matter how noble our intentions are, there are times when we will fail and make bad choices and though we can be forgiven, the mistakes make our lives so much more difficult than they have to be. But remember, sin can take on many faces, for Satan has that power. It can be as serious as lusting for someone other than your loved one and trying to live a lie while you balance your two different ways. Or it can be your desire for a new car, a very fancy model out of your price range which can destroy your credit and your life when you can't make the payments. It can be anything that you put on a pedestal which can drive you to do things which you know aren't doable and aren't right. And then, when disaster strikes, it requires you to either wake up, learn the error of your ways and with free will make your proper amends or just wallowing in self-pity as the lost soul you can become.
Remember, friends, no matter how low you sink and how bad your sins are, God still loves you and it is why He gave us Jesus as our Savior and our Redeemer. It is never too late to change your course of life and He will forgive you if you believe in the Son by faith in Him. Your sins will be washed clean and you will have learned a great lesson that should be held in close stead for all the remaining days of your life, for there is redemption and salvation in the Cross. Have a most blessed Sunday and keep the light shining in.
