“Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?"
- Job 38:1-5
The past week was certainly interesting in showing the audacity of mankind, both in terms of arrogance and disgust, but I want to focus on the issue that has so many on the verge of hysteria and it's why I've chosen the above picture of the Miami Beach skyline to accompany this Sunday Morning Coming Down commentary. Miami Beach, built on very low land which now supports huge buildings that was never intended for such purpose, yet continuing to built on it and wondering why a problem develops. But it's not Climate Change, it's the stupidity of building on land never intended to support it. And the problem grows when arrogant people think they have both the skills and the capacity to rule the world.
I am amazed at the arrogance of man, particularly those who want to rule the world, when they proffer that they have the answers to all of the answers to pending problems, yet these very same people and groups have performed in a fashion indicating just the opposite. I am referring to the New World Order, a group of pampered and privileged elites who think they know what is wrong with the world and want us to trust them with controlling it. Yet they've shown time and time again that their interests are for self, not mankind, as they play hucksterism with a gullible population. Have you visited Europe lately? Have you seen what their arrogance has created?
The debate this week on the Paris Accord was just the latest example. Men and women of membership in political elites have determined that mankind is going to destroy itself and that we must alter our lifestyles to the degree that many of lesser means will suffer dramatically while the elites continue their jet setting ways and their caviar tastes throughout the process. And if you are wondering how I tie this into my faith in this unique edition of Sunday Morning Coming Down, my thoughts on our audacity hopefully will make it clear.
Take a look back at the Book of Job and you can find the biblical answer, one which requires faith, but one which won't lead you down the wrong path. Job, a wealthy landowner and farmer of early Bible times was stricken with loss of his children, his property and riches and his health and he questioned why God had done this to him. After all, he was a good man, always provided help for orphans, widows, the sick and poor and he just didn't understand. He never cursed or turned his heart away from God, but he was angry as he sought the answer to his misfortune.
The entire book goes through his discourses with supposed friends who just assumed he had done something horrible to cause his grief, and they were relentless in addressing him with their views, taking on the appearance of being divinely inspired by God. Finally, in the chapter cited above, God answered Job by showing him that only He (God) had the answers to all things. And if you take the time to read Chapters 38 and 39 I think you will come to that same realization.
So for a group of international bureaucrats to try and tell a sovereign nation, particularly the one that is most generous in supporting international causes, that it must shoulder the major burden to resolve a problem that hasn't even been accurately identified yet is amazing. Some nations will shoulder absolutely no burden, others with huge discounts, while America would be assumed to be guilty as charged for a crime that doesn't even exist. And these very same groups make fun of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who is both the Christian and Jewish God while they try to "play god" with the world.
Take some time to really study the issues, folks, read the real data not the "junk science" coming out of the United Nations and the European Union, the New York Times or the Washington Post, then read your Bible and pray for guidance. Science is never settled, if we believed that we'd still believe the world was flat. And there are thousands of scientists who are not counted in the figures because they just don't support the Globalist Agenda. And only God has the answer to all things and He is not to be taken lightly or mocked.
I'm sorry if this Sunday Morning Coming Down has shown a political backdrop but I thought it was that important. And while we are residents of the earth and must work with others, we in the United States are still a sovereign country. Never forget or forsake that. I believe in my heart that the decision made by our President on the Paris Accord was the right on and I also believe that to support a sham for the benefit of a few would be a horrible outcome. It certainly wouldn't further God's Kingdom, for these same power brokers are the ones who never support Israel and it's City of God, Jerusalem. That is a position which will come back to cost them dearly after life on earth is done.
Dear Lord: We thank you for the earth you have given us and we ask that you guide us in its proper care. Keep us attuned to your wishes and your love, not the edicts from those with self-centered motives that don't put your wishes first in their hearts and minds. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
