On this week's Sunday Morning Coming Down program we dedicate our show to the American worker, those hard working men and women who go to work every day rain or shine, give it their best, and only expect an honest day's pay for any honest day's work. Since Monday is Labor Day, I think it important to speak about those who do the heavy lifting for all of us.
Labor Day is dedicated to those men and women who strive to do the best job that they can. All they expect is that their employer will treat them fairly for what they do. But today so often we see people on both sides of the aisle, both employees and management, who forget that simple requirement. Some on the working side think they are entitled to things having no relationship to what they produce, such as a guaranteed wage and unreasonable benefits. They forget that a company has to make a profit to stay in business and grow. And on the other side, some employers get greedy, expecting more for less when their workers are putting out a great product and should share in the success.
You know, the Lord initiated the requirement to work when Adam and Eve negated his guidance and ate of the forbidden fruit. The requirement to work for a living was initiated then and when we forget that requirement and the obligations it carries with it, we find ourselves falling out of His favor. When we wake up and change our ways accordingly, things ultimately get better for all of us, employees and managers alike.
So join me on this week's Sunday Morning Coming Down to discuss the way things should be in accordance with God's requirements for all of us. And celebrate with me the importance of the men and women who work hard and those who make those jobs possible. Both sides have to come together in a united way or nothing works out very well. The show will go live at 7:30 tonight and then be available 24/7. It's especially produced for those of you who can't make it to church but want a special devotional service. We'll have some Bible verses, a message and some wonderful Christian music. Hope you listen in. Here's the link:
God bless you all and have a great relaxing day.
