America is a land in great anguish these days. Our social order has been turned upside down, hate is seen more and more instead of reason and our reliance as a nation on an Almighty God is for many a thing of the past. And with the anguish and failure to realize its cause, adversity grows and fear and uncertainty rises. In times like this it is easy to give up which, in turn, will ultimately take up beyond the point of no return.
There is hope, however, for God is always nearby, hoping that we will look within ourselves and again open our hearts to Him. He is ready to help us find our way but expects us to approach Him. After all, He is God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and we are his mortal servants, expected to follow Him in the image in which we were created.
So when you see evil in your midst, are mocked for not joining the crowd, or told such rubbish as black lives matter but all lives don't matter, don't cower in the corner in silence but stand for what you believe. Remember, the fallen angel can take on many forms, both beautiful and obscene and he studies us and looks for our weaknesses.
Also remember that God is always watching us and He knows what we think and do and this very precious life which He has given us is requires us to make the decisions which will determine our fate. Do we want to do what is good and right by Him and gain eternal life or sink into the mire of depravity and weakness which ultimately leads us to death and darkness? The future ultimately can't be avoided and our free will determines what that future will be. It's our choice, but we are expected to choose wisely.
Have you made your choice yet? Don't tarry for it will arrive sooner than we might think or wish. It's time to get ready; it's what life on this earth is all about and the decision we make will determine what we inherit when this life is done.
Dear Lord: We thank you for your love and grace and forgiveness. Help us to use the gift of free will to always make the right decisions as you would have us to do. Sometimes they are difficult when the temptations of this world seem so strong, but help us to always realize that in the end only decisions which support your goals for us are the right ones. If we follow that direction, our future will be divine. In Christ's name we pray, Amen.
