Let me explain, I hope to write the story in a way that it will appeal to the animal lover in adults while also being a good source for bedtime reading by a parent to a child. I want to use the wonderful animals as a way to show the Glory of God in action and how they can teach us so much about the basics of life. It will have some humor and some sadness but will portray them in the way that I see them daily.
My plan is to have a first smooth draft finished by mid June and then have it ready to turn over to the printer by, hopefully, mid July. I hope some of you might find it of value when it is published, but I know that writing is always a risky business. If you aren't willing to take a little risk, well calculated risk, you'll never reach your full potential. And this is something I've wanted to do my entire life. It's never too late to do it.
As I look about my beautiful natural property, the barn dogs, cats, horses, and even my feathered friends offer a wonderful look at the natural side of life. I hope to be able to share this with others. Each of these glorious creatures has its own personality and a heavy dose of common sense. Survival is always foremost.
Dear Lord, Help us to always appreciate our natural surroundings and the many creatures with which we share this earth. Help us to never forget that Thou hast given us dominion for a positive reason; to nurture, care for and use animals as Thou intended. And help us to always avoid pain and suffering in our use of them as food or for labor. They are living, breathing creations and deserve good treatment. In Christ's name we ask, Amen.
Have a wonderful day and it's time for me to get to work.
