Let's face the issue, folks, and the issue is that things must change. Unless we control our borders, use real and cautious standards relative to immigration and maintain a strong military with modern emphasis on the cyberwarfare capabilities of today, it is only time before we pay a terrible price. That terrible price will make the problems and terror that we have seen to date look almost tame. And while improving our economy is also critical, we will have no economy and no country if we don't keep her secure.
From my perspective, nothing is more indicative of the likelihood of change than the three men pictured, men of courage, high character and great leadership who all have been selected by our President-Elect for major roles in the new Administration. They are General James Mattis (USMC, Retired), Lieutenant General Michael Flynn (USA, Retired) and General John Kelly (USMC, Retired), picked for Secretary of Defense, National Security Advisor and Secretary of Homeland Security, respectively.
Now the Washington Post came out with an editorial in the last few days saying that their appointments were indicative of the possibility of Donald Trump turning the federal government into a dictatorship. Really? A dictatorship? Isn't that interesting in light of the fact that we've had a Defense Department run by academics who have used the military as a social experiment proving ground while forgetting what the mission of the military is? Or a national security apparatus more involved with monitoring our own citizens instead of external threats and costly hacking of our insecure systems? Or finally a Homeland Security Department headed by a lawyer more intent on changing the make-up of America than controlling access by illegals as well as those who want to destroy our very existence?
The difference is clear. These men have repeatedly taken an oath to the nation and the Constitution, not to any political entity or ideology and they have been shown by their actions to work that way. General Mattis was relieved as Commander of CENTCOM for expressing his opinions as a seasoned warrior which resulted in his removal from the position with not even the courtesy of a phone call from the Commander-in-Chief. He didn't try to start a revolt; he just departed. A similar fate was dealt to General Flynn, who told it like it was as the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and he did the same thing. In the case of General Kelly, he chose to retire this past February with a reputation for telling it like it is and he is the highest ranking officer to lose a child in combat.
I see these three men as a special Christmas gift to America. For our land to prosper and survive, it is time to stop the nonsense of the New World Order and remind ourselves of how our nation is unique and special. After eight years of being told otherwise, leaders like these will take on the daunting task of playing major roles in the redemption of America. I take great heart in that and pray that they and their new boss are fully successful.
It's Christmas time and be thankful, for America is returning to a role of leadership and courage in the world. That indeed is a component of the merriest Christmas in years and as long as we keep our efforts within the range of what God would have us do, nothing can stop the great possibilities and dreams that are America. God bless you all.
