This morning, statistics as of 6 a.m. show that just over 6000 Americans have died from the Corona and I'll be the first to say that is tragic. But, at the same time, we learned yesterday that in just two weeks we now find 10 million Americans are out of work. While the government has created a plan to help, the funding that will start flowing will just end quickly and where will that leave us? How much more money will we create out of thin air to pass out more? The honest answer is we can't and it must stop. So, I merely want to suggest that the President needs to put as one of his charges for the Task Force to provide a plan for people to get back to work at the end of this thirty day pause while we still fight the virus. Now the medical experts may not like that, but even they at some point have to be realistic. And business leaders also must realize that going back to work will have to change from past practice for it to be effective, for we can no longer have large groups of people massed in very tight quarters while we fight this enemy that can't be seen but yet is passed from person to person so easily. Using one of the President's favorite lines, "we have to think out of the box." And no nation is better at that than the United States where ingenuity, individual initiative and hard work have done this time and time again. Perhaps the President is already doing something like this, but the key is for all of us to get onboard, not to say we can't. If we will and if we ask for the guiding hand of the Almighty to help us with the solution,we'll get there.
So, if you are a business leader, how many people can still do their job effectively at home via computer and special phone connection/smart phone? Wouldn't this free up office space to allow more separation of the required on-site office staff to deal with the issue? Is it cheaper to provide masks, sanitizer, cleaner facilities and gloves for everyone than it is to lose business? For government officials, can't we allow more than one person per one thousand square feet into a retail store? What about everyone having to wear some kind of a mask anywhere when in close public contact and wear gloves and shouldn't citizens be encouraged and helped to do that? Such things as this are not that difficult or expensive to use if we put our mind to it and they are certainly and lot cheaper than what we lose by pretending that we can close the country for long stretches of time and still survive as a free and prosperous nation. And what about we, the people. Can we control our wants in such a time in order to meet our real needs? Can we comply with minimal requirements voluntarily in order to regain the ability to move about and feed our families? It shouldn't be that difficult, America, but it would take discipline and as we've seen with such things as toilet paper shortages among other things, we seem as a society to have problems with self control. Let's turn the nonsense around and maybe if we returned to the basic values of our nation's foundation and re-learned to abide by the Golden Rule we could get things back on track, don't you think? It's something to think about and it's a better alternative than the one we seem to be following. What say you, my friends?
