History is a funny thing. It provides us with a clue to the future since it repeats itself routinely, yet in today's modern and soft world mankind doesn't like to think about unpleasant things. We prefer to think that it can't happen to us as we procrastinate in our weakness by assuming that all want to live together in peace. Yet nothing can be more distant from the truth even in this day when brutal dictators retain slavery, torture and other horrors as tools to maintain their control and most of the world sits by just hoping it will go away. It never does. And the saddest thing about that is tyranny usually shows its hand, giving hints about just what exactly is coming while we refuse to believe it.
Today we face many threats led by leaders of the same ilk as Hitler. The Mullahs in Iran have said they want to destroy both Israel and the United States, yet we entered an unsigned pact to allow them to develop nuclear weapons unfettered, even giving them access to nearly two billion dollars to feed their evil frenzy. And then there is North Korea where the little dictator has been bribed by the West for over fifty years yet he still threatens us, backing it up with displays of what he has in mind.
We also can't ignore ISIS, which has promised to destroy all infidels, that term being identified as anyone who doesn't believe in their jaded concept of Islam. Not far from us the nation of Venezuela, a nation now under the grips of a brutal Marxist in a land that has great wealth in oil yet her people are digging through garbage cans to find something to eat. These threats are not all on the outside either, with internal turmoil by groups like Black Lives Matter and Antifa openly saying they want to destroy our form of government as well as the white race. Of course, their are some "skin heads" or Nazi sympathizers, but their numbers really aren't very large and they couldn't even elect a single representative to Congress while the others are growing by spreading hatred and falsehoods wherever weak people listen.
So, friends, history is important for it does give us a good clue about the future if only we pay attention. And all of the threats we face today are not new in concept, each has been used as part of a strategy to create chaos, animosity and hatred and to turn citizens against citizens. Hitler did it, Stalin did it, the Mullahs have done it, Nicholas Maduro continues to do it in Venezuela and we see it happening right here at home.
September 1, 1939. Take time to look it up on your computer today and read about it. It's the kind of thing we can expect more of if we continue to fail to learn from our past. If you take the time, you'll see that it's not a pretty picture.
