And America barely listens and thinks that this is a good thing and will help protect America from a nuclear Iran. Sounds great, right? Not so fast. McConnell and the Senate have, with this bill, destroyed another check and balance of the Constitution and they think we aren't smart enough to figure out the truth.
In case you don't know the truth, here it is. The action that Obama wants is supposed to be done by formal treaty and by doing what they did today, the Republicans have just given Obama another blank check to do what he wants and make the Senate the rubber stamp joke that it has become under cowardly leadership. No Senator in either party should have voted for this since it will now allow Obama to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
The Republicans have achieved nothing by this; they will have a thirty day window to see the hard copy of the agreement when achieved. In order to kill it, however, they will now need a two thirds majority do so.. If it was handled as a formal treaty as the Constitution calls for, Obama would need a two thirst favorable vote to enact it. The President has just reversed the order and weak men like Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, who has been crowing about his success, has shown what a lightweight he really is. Hey, Bob, it's about the Constitution, stupid.
So the freshman Senator Cotton, a man who knows first hand from his combat experience the dangers that Iran poses, was the only Senator with the smarts and fortitude to support the interests of this country over the cheap and sleazy goings-on of the political elite. And what's even more disconcerting is the fact that not even Senator Ted Cruz, a man who claims to be a Constitutional Conservative or Senator Rand Paul would support him. Shame on them and all the Senators who sold out their country for a President who cares not what happens to America.
Thank you, Senator Cotton, for having the "guts" to do what is right. We won't forget you and we won't forget what others failed to do. We salute you, sir. God bless you and God bless America.
