Never has the slogan "Drain the Swamp" seemed more appropriate as politicians just pander to us as if they think we are stupid.
While I am concerned about each of these issues and all need to be fully investigated with appropriate punishment pursued and meted out to those responsible, I think in some cases these situation are being used to hide the real problem: IMMIGRATION. The United States Senate is ready to start floor debate on a bill which actually will make things much worse.
How many times have the politicians said that they have the perfect legislation to solve a number of problems? I can't count that high. Yet, the very bills that they continually pass are never enforced. There are plenty of laws on the books to stop the problem with immigration; our politicians just don't have the will to enforce them and we haven't applied enough pressure to make them understand that their jobs are on the line.
This bill will actually put the problem on steroids. It tasks Janet Napolitano with the power to enforce its provisions to protect us. But Janet Napolitano has already said publicly that the border is secure, so we're just running around in circles getting nowhere, unless destruction of the United States as we know it is what you had in mind.
I don't blame the Democrats for this; they've always been honest (if you really listen to what they say) about their intentions. But the Republicans, well, they're in the process of selling out the very people who elect them. And I think the Senate is a lost cause, with phony and supposed Tea Party supporting Senators like Rubio, Flake and Ayotte, among others, selling out for business and lobbyist connections. And what for? A Schumer staff written boondoggle.
I'm sure Harry Reid and his band of Constitution bashers are just sitting back and laughing gleefully while they watch the Senate Republicans destroy themselves.
This leaves our only hope in the House and the battle here will come later. And with a "wishy-washy" John Boehner as Speaker, all bets are off. So it's now up to us.
Let me suggest that all Americans concerned about this make a concerted effort to start contacting their Congressman now. And do it repeatedly in the weeks ahead. Let's send a message to John Boehner that tells him he wouldn't be Speaker without the support the Republicans gave his party in 2010. What we giveth, we can take back. Make sure he and his RINO followers in Washington understand. It's time for them to stand up for US for a change. We are America, not a banana republic.
God bless each of you and God bless America. May she always reflect His values and may we always live free.
