The IDF is a well trained Army made up of both women and men on the front lines, not so much because of women's hot topic issue but due to necessity and they are happy to be doing their duty. A large number of the forces are reservists, ready on standby for a call up when the rockets fly, as they have recently in the Gaza conflict.
The IDF trusts and believes in their "Bibi" because he has "been there and done that", having a distinguished record of military service in addition to his political career. And remember, when it comes to politics in Israel, it takes hard work to build a coalition in a Parliament made up of different parties and different views. Remember, of Israel's nearly eight million citizens, nearly one and one half million are Arabs and they are allowed to vote.
Now contrast that with America's Commander-in-Chief, Barack Obama, a man with no experience or understanding of military matters who nonetheless thinks he is the smartest man in the room on such matters. Rather than take advice from experienced professionals, he has purged the military of many of the best and brightest because they have dared to present the truth when asked. And more and more we see senior officers who are unsure of themselves and very indecisive, just like Obama himself. When Chairman of the Joint Chiefs said when asked about why we were supporting Al Qaeda in Syria, he replied curtly, "I don't know". This would have never happened in the days of Peter Pace or George Marshall.
And remember one other key thing; Obama will not visit troops in the field in full battle gear including weapons. It makes you wonder why is he afraid of those who bravely protect our country while he dithers or goes on another vacation? I guess it's because he knows that they know exactly what he stands for.
Obama also has proved that he has no ability to negotiate and compromise. With respect to American politicians, he constantly belittles the loyal opposition openly, often snearing at them and daring them to take him on. On the international scene, however, he usually blames the United States for his problems, the first time this has ever been so blatantly done by a President. The man wouldn't understand leadership if it was staring him directly in the face but, then again, so much of leadership is something that you either have or you don't. Community organizing is not a leadership training ground either.
So while our President is off at Martha's Vineyard with nary a care in the world, playing golf, eating ice cream cones and making traffic problems for the locals, Bibi Netanyahu is hard at work making sure that Israel lives for another day. He exhibits smarts, leadership and compassion in all that he does, but he knows that he can't relent with Hamas because their stated charter calls for liquidation of Israel and all of her people.
America, don't you wish you had this kind of leadership here? Wouldn't it be nice to have a leader who put America first instead of using it as her whipping boy for his ideology and dogma which has failed miserably wherever it is tried? Think about that when you go to vote this year because doing everything we can to stop the madness is critical if we are to survive as a nation.
And to Bibi Netanyahu, a true leader and friend of the American people, just know that our hearts are with you even if, unfortunately, our President and his staff are not. Stand strong for what is right and never relent. Long live Israel for you are a key ingredient to our longevity as well. God bless you.
