Here's the deal. Obama told the Russians, via Kerry, that they needed to stay out of Syria, that Assad led nation which is supported by Putin. Kerry warned of dire circumstances, so in response Putin organized a Russian base of operations there complete with a significant air power attachment. He gave the United States one hour's notice before sending his planes into action against rebel forces. He further told America to ground her planes.
So how did America respond? Well, we then said that as long as Putin is going after ISIS forces, which is what he stated from the outset, that would be acceptable. Yet we find out a few hours later that the rebels he was attacking were those questionably supported by the United States. And as of last night that hadn't even been validated by the United States although media in the area were confirming it.
So let's think about this for a moment. We moved our position from one of dire circumstances to acceptance in a matter of hours despite the fact that the Russian operations were actually against our interests. Of course, in my humble opinion the forces we are supporting are probably no more supportive of us than ISIS, after all aren't they the same thugs that John McCain met with a few years ago and were learned to actually be supportive of Al Qaeda, murderers all.
I think the main thing we've learned from this is that any red line (remember the earlier red line with Assad) drawn in the sand by Obama is useless, that he will not take decisive action against our enemies although he certainly will against good American citizens, and because of these things were are truly a paper tiger. It's a sad thing to see the nation which was the only world power degrade herself into second rate status in just one President's tenure. We're not in good hands, folks, clearly not and Putin has projected himself into that vaunted position.
Let's just hope America can survive without a worldwide calamity occurring due to our own weakness until we can elect a President who will do what is necessary. And by the way, that person is clearly not Hillary Clinton.
Think about it, pray on it, and work for it while also praying for any military folks we have in the area who have been relegated to cannon fodder. Our leadership, from the President on down through the Pentagon, the supposed brain trust of American military power, is clearly wanting. What a sad situation we find ourselves in.
Sometimes things are bleakest before we turn a page and open a new chapter. Let's hope that holds true for the future of the United States of America. God bless you all.
