In seconds, life is changed or it is gone. Material possessions, family homes and autos are destroyed in seconds and a sense of numbness and shock sets in for a while. It is a helpless feeling whenever and wherever it strikes and it requires courage, resourcefulness and the blessing of good and kind friends and strangers alike who step in to help the rebuilding of homes, towns and lives.
Let's all take a moment to join in prayer for these good people. We don't know why things like this happen the way they do, but we do know that God has a reason for everything and He is there to help. And remember, satan is alive and well on earth since he was banished from heaven. God has not yet ended his earthly reign as a test of your making good choices with your free well. And situations like this have a way of separating the wheat from the chaff among us for it takes patience like that of Job to handle what comes our way in a most uncertain life.
Lift up your heart in prayer:
Dear Lord, We thank you for the glory that is life and the many blessings that you constantly endow us with. But we also know that in a world that has so much evil and sin juxtaposed to Thy goodness that bad things do happen. And sometimes they happen to good people. Help us to keep our hearts open to the Holy Spirit who connects us with Jesus and who in turn connects us with You, for we know that the only way to You is through Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Show us the way to deal with such tragedies and to help others who are suffering this day. The people in the path of these storms need our help and our love and lead us to do what we can to pitch in to help them get over the pain and suffering and find a quick return to the vibrant community of citizens that they are. And lead them to always trust in You and have faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior, for He is truly the Way, the Truth and the Life for all of us. We ask this prayer in the Savior's name, Amen.
May God's mercy and goodness sustain them as they rebuild their lives and their towns. With His love and grace, they will not fail. And may the deceased and their families find peace and comfort through Him.
