- Ephesians 6:13 NKJV
The scriptural verse above is the basis for the picture on today's blog depicting an armored warrior on a white horse representing a soldier for God. The obvious intention of the passage was to show the power of God and how those who believe in Him in three persons have the spiritual protection to weather whatever is thrown at them. And while there are times when wars are needed, the intent here is to show how faith in Jesus Christ insures your Eternity when this life is done, regardless of what the world might do to you.
I used this point as well as others about the power of God and Christ on my twitter site yesterday because I devote Sunday to what I call #politicsfreeSunday. If you aren't familiar with twitter, it's a site where you can only submit 140 character messages and it's fast moving and fun. You have to shorten your message to the limit and sometimes that takes creativity. And I devote Sunday to godly material and other subjects such as nature and yes, even the Saturday sports results because I think one day off from politics is good for the day of rest, God's day.
Yesterday was the first time that I had some truly hateful responses, to which I responded with a comment about their right to their opinion and wishing for God to bless them. One antagonist mellowed, thanking me for my response, but another several came back blasting me as being an extremist, or trying to indoctrinate children with untruths or even accusing me of being a liar. In those cases I responded with the question: Why does what I say bother you so much? And then several responded no further but a few then blasted back again, in which case I blocked them from responding further. There was no point in going on any longer.
I write about this because I am an unabashed believer in Jesus Christ as my Savior and I have been a Sunday school teacher for both adults and children for a large number of years. I have never tried to indoctrinate people with "lies"; I just told the truth as I believe it, for Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life and by following Him we are granted the opportunity to live forever in His presence when our days on earth are done.
If you don't want to read what I write on this blog or other places or hear what I say on my North Florida Writer Live internet radio broadcasts (blogtalkradio.com/northfloridawriterlive) don't listen. You like I have free will to do as we choose and that is the way God wants it to be. Accepting His love and grace wouldn't be very special if it was automatic. But please don't try to accuse me of something because you believe differently. I will stand for Jesus Christ as long as I'm living and breathing and that's my free will in action.
God bless you all and have a great week getting back in the groove. And keep the wonderful Spirit of Christmas which we just experienced alive in your heart always.
