What a mess the leadership in the Republican Party truly is at all levels, be it the House, the Senate or the Republican National Committee. They just refuse to let the conservative elements of the Party have their say, knowing that the things the Establishment champions aren't popular but determined to push them through anyway. Watch for Boehner to work some deal to try and get another McCarthy type in position as he is determined to give the Chamber of Commerce what they want before he leaves town for good.
One thing is certain: the Establishment is hell bent on keeping Daniel Webster from becoming Speaker even though Webster is clearly a more moderate Congressman than most of the Freedom Caucus. Why? Because Boehner knows that Webster is an honest and straight forward man who wants to make sure that the House leadership is balanced so that all varying views within the Republican caucus have their fair say on things. And that, my friends, is something that Boeher never did, opting to jam things through in the backroom with bribes, lies and other questionable tactics.
Every Republican who wants to see the Party survive needs to call Congress and tell them to stop the malarkey. After all, if they want to retain their title as the Party of Lincoln it's time they acted like it. And as for Boehner, give it up, John? Now you are beginning to make a perfect fool of yourself. No one wants McCarthy, just like they no longer want you. Let the process do it's work and lead to a new Speaker being selected. Just butt out and go home. It would be the best way for you to graciously exit the scene after the chaos you have caused.
