Seriously, the automated program that is supposed to be the heart of the Obamacare exchanges seems to be already dying a rather inglorious death. We are now nineteen days into the initial sign up period and the results are pretty pathetic and I think that is being extremely diplomatic. Nothing works, no one is happy, the government is reluctant to provide any data on how it is really going, yet officials leading this fiasco still spout the party line that it is a great program and is living up to expectations. Anywhere but in the government the entire management team would have been sacked.
The President, early on in the roll out, tried to say that the start up was just like a new Apple product with "glitches" that would be figured out soon enough. Oh, please, Mr. President, Apple never tried to sell a product that nobody wanted and they never held a gun to your head requiring you to buy it. But then again, Obamacare has nothing to do with selling a good product to take care of healthcare needs. Obamacare is, quite frankly, nothing more than another government control mechanism. It's all about controlling people, forcing them to do what the government says and doing it with a crony system that picks winners and losers. Obama's friends are winners, all the rest of us are losers.
Several experts in the computer field who have experience in setting up sales platforms say that Obamacare is poorly designed and it is not really set up to handle the sales function. It is strictly a mechanism up to require the consumer to provide reams and reams of personal information that have nothing to do with sales. Gee, kind of sounds like a combination of the NSA and the IRS, doesn't it?
Let me explain what I am talking about by making a comparison to a large and most successful retail firm, Walmart. When you want to find out what Walmart has to offer and what the price is before buying what do you do? You either visit the store or go to their online site, either look into the department or the product you want, get the price and go from there. Nothing to it. Just like Amazon as well. You look up what you want and make your decision before you do anything else.
Obamacare is quite the opposite. When you log on to the exchange, you don't window shop first. Oh no, you have to enter all of your personal data including social security number, banking information, lots and lots of personal family data and then, only then, are you allowed to find out what your options are and what they will cost. So, in effect, once you have completed this, the government has all of your personal information whether or not you sign up or not.
Is this any way to run a sales site? Of course not. But it gives them the information they want from you so that if you decide not to sign up they know who and where you are for enforcement purposes. And they got it all before you found out you couldn't afford the Affordable Care Act in the first place.
What a disaster? No wonder the system can't handle the volume. It is coded to bog down with minutiae before it even reaches what the unsuspecting shopper thought was its intended purpose. And the result: very few people even find out what the cost is and if they do most decide it is something they can't afford.
But there is still one other problem that is just now starting to surface: the navigators. The navigators are people employed to help those who either don't have computer access, don't know how to use them, or just want a real live person to help them traverse the complicated maize of Obamacare. And who are the navigators? Well, it's turning out that many are people who are of questionable background, some with outstanding warrants or even illegals acting as government agents. So the government expects the public to provide personal and financial information to others of questionable moral character. Even the website says right upfront that the system is not secure.
I hope, folks, that you see the scam and disaster that Obamacare is rapidly proving itself to be. The United States government, with many politicians in both parties, is driving a system which can destroy your finances, your health and your freedom. And they just can't figure out why so many voters are ready to throw the entire lot of them out of office.
The bottom line: Ted Cruz and his supporters were right and you better get Lifelock right away. And then you better jump on the bandwagon to do what is necessary to kill this untenable law that will clearly destroy the best medical care in the world. It is already happening under our eyes.
Stand tall, fight back, and don't give up on this battle. Healthcare, nearly 20% of the economy, is getting ready to put a vice grip on you and a death panel at your door while you pay exorbitant prices for that "privilege" while also being harassed by government agents. That, in a nutshell, is Barack Obama's crowning achievement.
God bless each of you and I hope this information is of help. Let's bring back common sense, freedom and a truly open and transparent government, not a phony substitute. Have a great weekend.
