President Obama made a speech several days back where he cast disparity on anyone who is opposed to his foolish position on Iran but, then again, that is par for the course for this President, a man totally unqualified for the job and once who doesn't relish it much except for the perks. In fact, since taking office he has gone out of his way to claim that the country he serves is the cause of most world problems, yet everything has deteriorated dramatically on his watch. I guess that's why he makes outlandish statements routinely, but the ones he made about Iran are are dangerous. Here are just two statements among many to ponder.
Statement Number One: "America needs to show good faith in dealing with Iran". Really, Mr. President, America should show good faith to Iran, the nation that has called us the Big Satan and chants death to America and has killed many American military personnel by providing our enemies with weapons and funding to strike against us. And where, pray tell, is Iran showing good faith, unwilling to budge on anything as the hapless Secretary of State makes a fool of himself as he walks back position after position.
Statement Number Two: "Republicans' opposition falls right into line with the hardliners in Iran who are opposed to peace." And who are those Iranian hardliners, well, no other than President Rouhani of Iran and the Ayatollah himself. And everyone knows that the Ayatollah is the decision maker who directs the actions that the President and his governing body will take. Your ideologically driven comments once again consist of doublespeak. The very things that you accuse America of doing are the things which Iran does, and being the hard-nosed negotiators that they are, they took you to the cleaners on point after point.
Rather than saving us from potential war, you have made it nearly certain that we will become embroiled in a war and young Americans will be put in harm's way once again due to a position of weakness. War always comes from weakness, for our enemies know that weakness gives them the chance to strike quick before we can even begin thinking of catching up. No greater example stands than World War II when we ignored Hitler's menace and then had to fire up construction and rapidly draft huge numbers of men when it was nearly too late.
Come to think of it, Mr. President, the Ayatollah is just using Hitler's playbook, and since you don't like any history that is more than fifty years old (you've repeatedly told us that), you have no clue what happened in the early 1940's when we were woefully unprepared. Folks, I only hope that enough Democrats come to their senses to help kill this non-treaty "treaty" that Obama has concocted and that the Republican leadership in the Senate realizes how foolish they have been, for instead of a 2/3 vote to put the President's plan in place, it requires a 2/3 to kill it.
And while we're blaming people for this bad situation, at the top of the list are Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee who concocted this law to turn the Constitution on its head and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, for giving Corker a leadership position to generate such folly. Both men should be returned to their home states as soon as possible.
God help America to recover from this disastrous situation. Let's get some new leadership that will keep its eye on the ball at all levels.
