My kids are now grown but I can remember standing in line for what seemed like an eternity waiting for their turn to tell Santa about their wish list. Oh, it was fun and the kids loved it but even back then I thought often about how much we had commercialized the day which commemorates the arrival of the Christ Child who grew into the Man that changed the outlook of the world.
Where's the Line to See Jesus first came out about four or five years ago and I always listen to it numerous times during the Christmas season. So I decided that maybe, just maybe the song might help to influence us to change the way we look at Christmas. Oh, I don't mean that we shouldn't exchange presents and enjoy good food and fellowship at this wonderful time of the year, but shouldn't we put Jesus first in all that we do? And we need to do this not just at Christmas but all the year long.
We are in big trouble, folks, as a society and as a world and we truly need to turn back to Him if we want to get our world and our lives in order. So shouldn't Christmas be focused more on the reason and less on our personal desires and wants? And that was the main thrust of the show which is now available on demand. Similar types of shows will be my focus for this entire month; I'll put politics away for these special days and spend more time with programming about the way we should live. I might even throw in a couple of Christmas stories for children of all ages.
I hope you'll tune in at your convenience. It features the beautiful song that is its subject. I hope the words will tell better than I ever could what is important about Christmas. Here's the link:
