I decided to sit down and put on paper what I think are the three most important things for America going forward. What three things can have the most impact on our nation and our people in the future to insure retention of our freedoms? Oh, there are many other things to be considered, but I think that these three will if earnestly sought and worked for, put us back on the right path. The rest will follow along.
1. Return to our Foundation in God. He is truly the Foundation for without Him we are nothing. We have allowed many of our churches to be overrun with Social Justice instead of the Gospel. Membership has been declining dramatically because Americans, whether they all know it or not, are seeking some definitive guidance in their lives. The truth is that there are absolutes in this world, there is right and wrong. Unfortunately, we have allowed those without solid morals and upbringing to assume positions of power and develop a phony principle of "Freedom from Religion." Our freedom to worship our Lord and Savior is absolute in that we don't force anyone to follow what we do. We do, however, sway people to our viewpoints by the way we live our lives, treat other people and witness for our beliefs. That is our responsibility as a modern day Apostle.
2. Rebirth of the Importance of Family. We have degraded the family in America to the point where it is going to be very difficult to bring it back to the position that it deserves. Remember when you were a child and the normal family was a man and a woman who loved each other and raised a family together? Today it's the age of Heather has two mommies or Stevie has two daddies and the kids are so mixed up they don't know whether they should be male or female. We already have six year old kids declaring the right to claim to be the other gender. Do you think there is no strong adult influence on this? Really?
Mark my word, it won't be long before the argument will be for multiple wives and/or husbands, pedophilia and, at worst, bestiality. There are those actively pushing for these types of arrangements already. Sounds like Sodom and Gomorrah is making a reintroduction in the world. I don't know about you but I'm not interested in becoming a pillar of salt.
3. Return of Our Country as a Bastion of Freedom and Liberty. That book I was reading cited at the beginning really brought this to the forefront. America has always been a bastion of freedom and liberty but with a couple of caveats. Freedom requires responsibility and responsibility requires an accepted social order. The things that are happening today actually break down that social order and when that happens nations implode. Many today no longer believe what their politicians are saying and they don't believe in what their government is doing. Can you blame them?
I don't think there is any way that a government can justify for security purposes the intrusion of itself into every aspect of our lives and our privacy. No one has the right to do this and even the government officials know this. Why else would they refuse to disclose what they are doing? And this is just added to all of the scandals where leaders pick winners and losers and punish those who disagree with them through corrupt use of the tax laws. A government that operates like this is sure to lose popular support. It already has.
All Americans regardless of political persuasion need to be very concerned about what is happening in our country today. We have lost the respect of the world, we are heading rapidly toward bankruptcy, and practically no one in office seems to care as long as we, the people pick up their health care tab.
So God, family and country, in that order, is the only way we will ever solve the problem and right the ship. If we follow God, family will fall into place by His guidance and country, as long as it is moral and just, will be blessed. Otherwise I think we will soon face "Hell on Earth".
I didn't write this to scare anyone but we all must think about it and decide what is important to us and what is the right way to go. Everyone must make his or her own choice wisely. Choose carefully, my friends, you'll only get one chance.
