It's hard to describe the feeling. I've wanted to write a book for many years but always made excuses for why I just couldn't do it. Finally retiring, I had no other excuse and I needed something to really sink my soul into so I decided to write about all of the animals, both domestic and wild, that surround us in our country home. It didn't hurt, of course, that my wife is a living "Doctor Doolittle". She just has a way to "talk to the animals" that I guess I'll never fully understand.
My book is a composite of real life happenings that I have witnessed over the past few years. They are short stories about horses, dogs, cats, birds and a few wild things like possum, raccoons, deer and, yes, even a few snakes. They have taught me the value of slowing life down a little bit to watch and enjoy the wonders of nature that surround us. The result has been a major change in my life and a much closer relationship with my God.
Please take a look at it, won't you? My Amazon link is here:

Whether you are interested in reading my story or not, I hope it will help you appreciate the value that these wonderful living creatures bring to our lives. They are, after all, another component of God's master plan. And I can now check off another item on my bucket list. In fact, I found the experience so exhilarating that I plan to start on another book soon.
Have a wonderful and fun Saturday. And take a moment to watch the animals in action. They can teach you a lot. They certainly have taught me about some of the finer things in life.
