Today in Dayton, Ohio at another rally, the Secret Service was suddenly required to surround Mr. Trump at the podium as someone attempted to rush the stage. This chaos ended quickly and the candidate was able to continue on with loud cheers from his huge throng of supporters. I'll just say God bless the Secret Service who are assigned to Presidential details for all that they do. They responded quickly and efficiently, stopping what could have been much more serious.
And what happens in response. The Three Musketeers, Kasich, Rubio and now even Cruz issue statements blaming Trump for the violence. Really, gentlemen, Trump caused the violence? Oh he talks with some braggadocio and with an air that might resemble a football coach, but he also speaks the truth about the issues and puts it in simple language that average Americans, not just the Harvard class political elites can understand. I find it refreshing, honest and something America needs more of. And I'm not surprised at all by the response of Rubio and Kasich, two wannabes who are going nowhere. But I am disappointed in Ted Cruz, turning a situation where he should have supported free speech into just another wimpy response so as not to offend people who themselves are truly offensive in their behavior. Remember the old line "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me?" Well, I think now would be a great time for America to practice that. Face the truth of what is happening in America and stand for it instead of kowtowing to those who are continually excused for what they do.
Some may agree with me and some may not, but I know that unless we fight for ending the chaos that our own government has supported, we will never bring America back. Trump knows this and that's why he's here. Cruz should know this, too, and if not he needs to lose. It would be better for all of us if these two could come together but if not, I'll stick with Trump.
