Now don't get this wrong, money in and of itself is not a bad thing. We certainly need a reasonable amount of it to survive in the world and to purchase those things which are needed for life, but when it becomes an object of worship as opposed to an object of utility it clearly leads to trouble. When it becomes the end all and be all, evil has gained the upper hand and sooner or later we will fall. And while it may not be in this world, if it becomes the center point of our life ultimately damnation will follow. God expects us to put Him first, and money, when it becomes first in our lives is nothing more than idol worship, something that is forbidden in the Ten Commandments.
So why is this the subject for a blog on a Tuesday? Well, this week Tuesday is effectively Monday, at least for those who had the holiday off yesterday. So as you carry out one of your important earthly duties, working to earn money to provide for yourself and your family, remember that money is important but never let it take charge of your life. And even if you are successful beyond your wildest dreams, don't just use your money selfishly, use it for God's good as well. It's what is expected of you, it will warm your heart and build your spirit and those in need in so many ways will be appreciative. Don't use it as a handout but as a hand UP. Then it will really do some good.
Have a great Tuesday Monday, smile, say a little prayer for God's guidance and grace as you conduct your business and labor on. Find the good in all that you do and focus on that; the week will go much better. God bless you all.
