And this leads to another question of critical significance today. Can you imagine either Ted Cruz or Donald Trump going silent when facing a clearly partisan moderator at the moment of truth?
The remembrance is cited as the nonsense begins about Romney now offering himself up as a "brokered" candidate on behalf of the Establishment, a corrupt group of power hungry elitists who think they know better than the broad base of voters who have had enough of the Washington class. And if they (being the Establishment) want to pull off some type of brokering deal to try and negate the will of the people, it is very likely that the Republican Party will face a very sudden and untimely death. The Washington fools don't realize that without the base they have nothing.
And one final word. While Trump is the candidate that this writer prefers, primarily due to his penchant for action and lack of requirement to be beholden to a group of contributors, Ted Cruz is certainly another outsider who has his heart in the right place for America. Either one of these men will be a breath of fresh air. But if the nastiness of each of their partisans continues at the level of vitriol being seen today, one group could in fact destroy the other and with it take away any chance of an outsider win in November. Should that happen, America will be facing a minimum four more years of the destruction of America, an outcome which could very well mean the demise of our system of government as we've known it for over two hundred years. Let's lower the rhetoric on both sides so that no one will be a loser for the biggest loser of all will be America.
God bless America and may we ever, with His help, keep her free.
