Speaking in Louisville, the presumed new Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, went before the press and made an emphatic statement that there would never be another shutdown of the government by the Republicans. And while no one wants a shut down of the government, take a minute to let what McConnell said sink in. By putting his cards open faced on the table, McConnell just gave the power of the purse to the President. The President now knows for sure that the leadership of the Republican Party will do nothing to stand in the way of his lawlessness.
Meanwhile, Obama had a press conference in close proximity time wise where he acted more like the Democrats had won the election rather than being shellacked. So you have the loyal opposition, the Republicans, with a huge victory under their belt openly saying that they want to work with a known liar, a man who never sticks to his word, for the betterment of what? And Obama continues to say he's just going to do what he wants to do-period. He could care less what McConnell says and McConnell doesn't even blink as he just pictures himself drunk with self-satisfaction in his lordly seat of power.
And what about our illustrious Speaker of the House, John Boehner. He's probably relaxing somewhere, sobbing with a drink in hand, thinking of all the great golf outings and luxurious trips that he and his buddies can take courtesy of his Amnesty friends at the Chamber of Commerce. In some ways both of these men are even worse than Obama because they should know better. After all, Obama's upbringing was a disaster with an absentee father, a mother who was a left wing America hater, and a mentor who was an American Communist, Frank Marshall Davis. But what excuse do McConnell and Boehner have to explain away their lack of concern for their country and its well being?
I'm truly sorry to be so sarcastic on a night when I should still feel like celebrating, but America is broke, our military is in shambles, we have no borders, our healthcare system has been destroyed and millions are out of work. And at the same time, we have two Republican leaders plotting to work with the very man who has caused much of this pain. This is truly a disgrace and I just pray that somehow, somewhere there is a true Conservative leader who will rise from the disaster that is America to turn things around. May God help us find him before it is too late.
