Ms Bartiromo opened the segment by asking him about how he and his fellow Bayou State citizens were fairing in the wake of Hurricane Laura. Displaying the typical upbeat and positive spirit, Senator Kennedy told her that yes, Lousiana would survive, rebuild and again thrive, but that it would be a long and difficult period, one that would require years no weeks and a lot of help and prayers from good Americans everywhere. He reminded her, however, of the high volume of disasters that his constituents have overcome and this one would be overcome as well with the guidance and love from God above.
It was then that Ms Bartiromo broached politics, and she spoke of Nancy Pelosi's recent comments saying that Joe Biden shouldn't hold any debates with President Trump. She asked the Senator what he thought of that and John Kennedy, as is his manner, thought for a moment and asked her to just give him a moment to decide how he best wanted to handle the question. He pondered just another moment and replied in a manner so typical of his way. He told her he hoped the former Vice President would follow her advice. But he didn't stop there, describing that approach as being Custeresque. He likened her approach to that of General Custer asking his top battlefield lieutenant his opinion of the general's plan to go directly in after the Indians at the Little Big Horn. When the lieutenant said yes, we can do this, Custer opted to go in to suffer a horrific fate with his entire troop being massacred. Will Biden follow Pelosi's advice and suffer a similar fatal political fate by not debating the President? And to that, Senator Kennedy said that Joe Biden can't stay in his "hidey hole" for Americans will not vote for a man who won't even face his opponent in front of millions of interested voters. I think Senator Kennedy is right on the mark.
It will be interesting to watch Senator Kennedy as the critical final campaign drive winds down and the future of America will then unfold. And Kennedy can discuss it while turning drudgery into fun. So, thank you, Senator, for all you do and say to support the real American way in a most delightful fashion. We would be better off if we could find a whole lot more patriots in Washington with the same values and demeanor as you.
