And sharing a loving life with a wife who is a former dog trainer and dog show participant, a strong bond naturally exists with all creatures big and small who reside on our rural property. This will be apparent on Sunday’s NORTH FLORIDA WRITER TALKS when we explore America’s love for man’s best friend (and woman’s, too) and how they captivate us and give us great joy.
Our guest this week is Lori Wiggins, another dog lover with a passion for the canine set. Lori will tell you about her beautiful greyhounds and a special big fella’ named Romeo. You will clearly hear the enthusiasm in her voice as she talks about these wonderful gifts from God.
We will explore what makes dogs so special, the joy they provide and the sadness that comes when we lose one of our special friends. We will share some interesting and often humorous stories that bring great memories and enrich our lives.
Our family has multiple canine members, large and small, boisterous and quiet, but each in his or her own special way has captured our heart. Included are Great Pyrenees, a Great Dane, and several small dogs who think they are always up to the challenge of their larger counterparts. We cherish the time we are given with each of them.
If you have a story and want to share it, please call in. The number is 914-338-1776, then just press 1 to enter the waiting queue. We will try to take as many calls as we can late in the first hour and will continue for up to two hours if the audience requires.
And for those of you wondering why I am taking up this subject on Conservative Report Radio my answer is a simple one. Whether you are liberal, in-between or conservative like me, if we take the time to talk to one another about the things that we both love, like our wonderful dogs, we might just be able to open a conversation to bridge some of the gaps we find between us.
I don’t mean to sound idealistic, but wouldn’t it be nice if we could all talk civilly without yelling and being ugly to one another? America needs that and maybe, just maybe, our love of dogs can play a part in accomplishing just that. After all, they are clearly given to us to make our lives better.
I hope you’ll join us Sunday as we celebrate the best friend a person can have. The American dog, whatever the breed, is a clear winner. God bless them all.
