But seriously, folks, it's really difficult to celebrate this Labor Day as a holiday since we have about ninety-four million working age adults permanently out of work in America today. These are the ones who are no longer being counted in the statistics, so when the government says only 4.9% of Americans are out of work it is not accurate. And remember, anyone who works for a day in a statistical data period is counted as working, plus when they add up employment numbers there is a lot of double counting since so many are working multiple jobs to just try and retain the level of income they used to receive with one.
Many blame it all on business and there is certainly a degree of truth in that. But remember, the United States has the highest corporate tax rate in the world and that plays a big part in why businesses don't want to keep their corporate address and business in America. And realistically, seeing what the government uses so much of its tax revenue for these days, can you blame anyone? We have millions out of work and no longer eligible for benefits when we pay nearly two thousand dollars monthly to support illegals and questionable "refugees" that have no business being here. You really can't make this stuff up, yet our government just continues on with its spending into oblivion of the greatest nation on earth.
So on this Labor Day, instead of celebrating, let's vow to turn things around. Let's get our government under control and once again make it a government of, by and for the people, where Americans are the principal concern of our undertakings not support for the entire world. I'm sure the smug European Union bureaucracies, the United Nations and other such international bodies are laughing all the way to the bank with our money, money which continues to be printed even though there is nothing to back it up.
Let's make Labor Day the American holiday that it is supposed to be. Not just another excuse for the government workforce to have another day off with pay. On second thought, maybe we'd be better off if we just paid them for not working at all. That way they couldn't do any more damage. Just sayin'.
