In the hearings, the nominees have handled themselves well, they've told the truth and they have easily dispatched Left wing talking points with no nonsense answers. But more importantly, they've said what they believe even if it appears to be at odds with their soon-to-be boss, much to the delight of the media whose members run to the microphones and newsrooms to breathlessly report that even his appointees don't agree with the incoming President. Boy, are they stupid.
If you want to understand Donald Trump and how he operates, you have to do some research and look at the way he runs his business. When you do that you will find that what we've witnessed is just par for the course with Donald Trump. Prior to making decisions, he likes to have his best and brightest employees weigh in on the proposed action, sometimes with a give and take to make sure all is absolutely clear, but then, when it comes to decision-time, he makes the final decision. He does so only after getting all sides of the issues covered in detail, the mark of a leader who wants to get the best information available about any action first. And it makes him well respected by his employees, who know they've been afforded the opportunity to be actively involved in the outcome.
Go back and compare what we've witnessed in these hearings with those for President Obama's appointees and even George W. Bush before him. The nominees clearly parroted the party line on all issues, seldom wavering at all. Not so with the Trump Team and Trump understands this about them, that they are the best and the brightest, and therefore he will get the truth about the issue, not "gobbledygook" from a bunch of yes men and women around him. It's refreshing, it opens up the mind to all options and what each entails and it results in a much better decision.
Now it's understandable that ideologues don't like this approach. They want people around them who kowtow and show total deference at all times, but as we've seen the results are usually a disaster. So now we've got a change coming, a refreshing change, and it's one that will clearly benefit America. And frankly, we've got no time to waste.
So if you are a Trump supporter, the upcoming changes will likely make you both proud and happy for the country. If you are one in opposition, maybe you should consider the words published yesterday that were uttered by, of all people, the actress Nicole Kidman, certainly not one likely to be a big fan of Donald Trump. She simple said, "It's time for all America to come together behind the President" or words to that effect.
Thank you, Nicole. I just hope you and husband Keith aren't going to be blacklisted by your Hollywood friends for simply saying what you believe. And the plain truth is this: The Trump Train will be bringing Donald Trump into Washington next week and at this time next week Donald Trump will be President of the United States and Barack Obama will be a former President. I only hope that he chooses to go into retirement gracefully like his predecessors. That's what former Presidents are supposed to do.
