One of the most famous verses of the Bible says it all, for the truth will set you free. America was founded as a society with a political system where debate and discourse could be conducted openly and honestly, allowing each of us to make up our own minds on which course of action is right for us individually and in a group setting. But something has happened as our society grows and supposedly progresses and we have to a large degree lost our way and our zeal for the truth, instead trying to find a politically correct answer to all issues that will offend no one .
We have many serious problems in America today, some of which seem out of control. Our borders are open, our education system is under great stress and the open discourse on campus is gone, our government is borderline bankrupt, and over ninety-four million working age people have given up. But we don't openly and honestly address the problems. We have become politically correct and therefore we work around the edges and avoid the real cause and things then just continue to perpetuate themselves. So the problems grow on unabated, actually growing, and our police are under siege by groups that hate them and actually want to do bodily harm to them.
Folks, it wasn't always this way. America was founded on common sense and hard work and today while many still work hard the flavor of the day in politics is to avoid the cold, hard truth. Unless we end this, this scourge of political correctness based on feelings instead of truth,we will never solve our problems and the issues will fester until we destroy our society. Is that what we want?
You know, the opening of this blog with the famous quote from Jesus is absolutely true. Only the truth will set us free and it will set us free in all things. We must break the chains that have been imposed by our liberal friends and demand truthful answers and good solutions to all things. Why do you think that Donald Trump is on a roll? Because love him or hate him, he is not afraid to tell the truth.
And in closing this morning, I want to site a situation that took place in New Hampshire on the campaign trail yesterday. Trump fielded a question from a man who claimed that the President is a Muslim and, according to reports, the media is outraged that he didn't defend the President. Folks, Trump didn't ask or answer the question, he merely fielded it. Trump is under no obligation to comment on the status of the President if he doesn't want to. His answer was completely appropriate and if you want to end such conjecture, maybe the President would be wise to support America instead of openly allowing "refugees" from terror prone nations in the Muslim world who can't be vetted but are nonetheless allowed free access to our country.
We'll talk about it tonight at 9:30 on North Florida Writer Live. I hope you'll tune in. Here's the link to the show:
