Today, however, is Tuesday, now that I'm awake and it's the first day of a new work week, albeit a shortened one, in a new year. So it's a good time to start everything fresh, to apply our recently made New Year's resolutions to all that we do, and move on and upward in our lives. Life is, after all, very similar to a normal daily cycle. It dawns with birth and matures like the sun rising until it begins to fade with the sunset and ultimately darkness, or death. So live each day to the fullest and make the most of life. If we do, when we get older and retire, like me and so many of my friends, we will all be able to look back, happy with what's been accomplished and hopefully much wiser for learning from the mistakes that were made.
And for those of you who routinely read my blogs, and I am very appreciative of those of you who do, I want to announce my plans going forward. Now, you likely noticed that this Thanksgiving past I literally swore off politics in my blog posts. I wanted to purge my soul, clean the slate and devote more time to those wonderful thoughts about the good things of life and the many memories that are remembered. I came to the realization that it made me happier, was really what I enjoyed writing about and, while losing a number of snarkier former followers, it attracted new followers looking for something lighter.
Yet, having been a student of politics for years, having seen the workings of government both from a military and civilian perspective, plus also seeing what it can do to private business, I can't just fully divorce myself from it. So, here's what I plan to do in the following year. I will continue to principally focus on "The Good Old Days", nature, animals and those things that God has awakened in my, but I will devote one day a week to politics. That way I can pick a few things that particularly strike my fancy, yet I will try to talk about them from my perspective of Constitutionalism, which I strongly believe in, but not snark. And I've decided which day to use based upon something that we all joke about sometimes. What is it, you ask?
It's HUMP DAY and it's also sometimes nowadays called TRUMP DAY. So each Wednesday will be devoted to politics, but not just Trump, even though most of you know I am a supporter of his direction for the country. Just like my weekend blog, SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN is devoted to my faith, Wednesday will be devoted to politics. And we'll start for the year tomorrow, on the first HUMP DAY or TRUMP DAY of the new year.
Have a wonderful Monday-Tuesday or Tuesday-Monday out there, be safe and God bless. Say a prayer, put a smile on your face and slay that "big old work dragon."
