Here's my interpretation of those colors and what those words represent. Since it's my idea, I'd urge you all to take it with a grain of salt. The words for the stripes would be related to the struggle itself to attain their desired goal of independence (red) while the inclusion of a people devoted to God as their foundation would be represented by the background for the stars (blue). There is no doubt that the nation was created under an Almighty Providence (God) and that valor and bravery were sorely needed in the struggle. Yet the struggle was for their freedom under God from tyranny, achieved from a notion born with pure and innocent intentions (with God at their side) as they would move forward in the creation of a government structure to accomplish just that.
Today, I am truly troubled with what I have seen taking place in the United States of America. This isn't a political issue, it's a social and spiritual issue with consequences that can completely change our nation from one which is the envy of the world to one that has lost its way and has turned its back on our foundation. With that mind, I hope at least some of you will read the questions below and ponder them and what you think the answers are. If you have children or grandchildren at least twelve years of age, you might discuss them with those precious offspring for the changes I am talking about, while they might not totally impact some of us who are older, will certainly face our young people head on. If you are a person of faith, they will potentially destroy the things that we know are right in our hearts. These are not all the issues that need to be addressed but at least they're a start. We are sorely behind the eight ball and need to get engaged today
THE AMERICAN FREEDOM QUESTIONS
If the Constitution doesn’t specifically mention God, why does the Declaration of Independence talk about inalienable rights granted by God?
What are the inalienable rights and where can we find them?
Why do federal and often times state and local officials take an oath promising to follow the Constitution yet they are never held accountable when they don’t?
Why does the overwhelming majority of the press no longer represent the concept of coverage of news with a non-biased view but instead follow a dogmatic and biased ideological slant in their reporting?
What is real freedom and how do I attain it?
Why do we no longer teach real history and civics to students before allowing them to graduate from high school? How does that serve society when they are adults?
Why are colleges no longer a place where debate, logic and concept discussion can no longer allow for two sides to every issue?
Why is it important for a nation to have borders and be sovereign? Why should a nation have standards for immigration designed to primarily benefit the nation not the applicant?
Since we need picture identification to get a driver’s permit, open a bank account, apply for credit and even attend a political convention, how can it be any less important when we go to vote?
Why aren’t our politicians held to a standard of truth? How has that worked out for you?
How many know the name of the President, Senator and Representative who serves them in Washington. What about their Governor and State Representative or Senator?
How many of you have children or grandchildren over the age of 12 who would have no idea of what you were talking about if you sat down to discuss the questions with them?
Would you be willing to have such a conversation and if you have no idea yourself, be willing to do the research to find out?
THESE ARE JUST A FEW AND THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES. THE ANSWERS ARE IN SOME CASES NOT EXACT BUT THEY DO FOLLOW A PATTERN IF YOU BASE IT ON AMERICA’S FOUNDATION. THEY ARE OFFERED TO MAKE US THINK ABOUT HOW BLESSED WE ARE TO BE FREE AND WHY WE SHOULD NEVER TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. TO STAY FREE, WE HAVE TO STAND UP AND FIGHT FOR IT AND DEMAND THAT OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS DO THE SAME. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND MAY SHE EVER BE FREE.
