I usually refer to a crisis as something that happened unexpectedly, often an act of God, and if you agree then this isn't a crisis, it's a disaster instead. The problem is one that was created by the Obama administration as a way to force Congress to pass the outrageous amnesty bill that has languished ever since Harry Reid and his minions pushed it and a few cowardly Republicans bought the Kool-Aid hook, line and sinker. And by unilaterally saying he would accept the "children" by executive order a year ago, Obama sent a message to Central America that free entry to the country and citizenship could be possible for children making their way here. And the cartels were eager to serve as escorts through the deserts of Mexico, knowing that anything causing chaos north of the border would be to their advantage.
It kind of reminds me of the same strategy used during the Fast and Furious scandal period when Obama looked the other way while American officials ran guns to Mexico and into the hands of the cartel, desirous of creating a case for gun control back here in America. While we still don't know all the details because of the gag orders and refusals to come clean by the government with the active aid of Eric Holder, hundreds if not thousands of Mexican citizens died as a result as well as our own Border patrol agent, Brian Terry.
I don't see this as a humanitarian issue so much in Obama's terms as I do see it as a clear invasion of our country by the unlawful and direct attack on American sovereignty. Of course, if you believe that Obama wants open borders and chaos as part of another Cloward and Piven action, then it all becomes perfectly clear.
If it was truly a legitimate humanitarian crisis Obama would have the press touring the facilities honestly to see what was going on. And he would allow the Congress unfettered access so that they could become just as concerned, an action which would probably generate a quick humanitarian response. But what is happening instead is a closed door process not unlike an NFL team practicing in private before the season. Fences are up, covers are over the fences so that no one can see through, and brown shirt guards (a term the guards themselves are using) are refusing to allow entry except under highly controlled situations where cell phone are surrendered and no pictures or interviews of the "children" or staff are allowed. Why?
Well, there are many hints and even some numbers which might explain and, if they are reasonably correct, it should bring fear into the hearts of the good people of America who might be soon under siege. The number 57,000 was used yesterday by an administration official as the volume of children that have been "surged" across the border recently, yet many estimates run as high as 300,000 for the total number of illegals who have arrived. Each one entering the country has a scripted response to the Border Patrol which has been instructed to bring them to a station for processing.
Pictures show a much higher number of older youth and adults in the crowd (like the train picture) and many have gang tattoos. Disease is running rampant and even our Border Patrol agents are becoming infected now that they are glorified babysitters instead of agents on the border. Reports of violence in the centers is coming out as well as signs of gang graffiti on the walls. The facilities are controlled because Homeland Security doesn't want to show the truth; they are acting more like the Welcoming Committee for illegals than an official agency designed to protect the United States and the adverse consequences are likely to be severe. And the young children present are just pawns in their game.
Meanwhile, Obama refuses to go to the border, he instead spent time recently playing pool and drinking beer in Colorado in a pot parlor, laughing and joking while the security of America is shut down.
I could go on and on but I think you get my drift. Humanitarian crisis? Rather, a humanitarian problem self-inflicted by Obama who planned for the current action back in January when the government let a contract for border guides to carry the illegals to their ultimate destinations throughout the United States. Obama has no intention of sending them back; that's why he has just requested four billion dollars to fund their continued care in the United States. Congress needs to just say NO and demand that they be returned where they came from. This could be accomplished for less than 2% of Obama's proposed cost and it would send the message to Central America that your trip to the border will not result in entry into the United States. And then, just shut the border tight, period.
Look, you can feed the little ones and treat their immediate health issues, but then it is imperative to reunite them with their families back where they came from. That's where they belong and as for the rest, just ship them back without delay. Lawbreakers should never be rewarded and America needs to be protected from them. That's the President's prime Constitutional responsibility.
A country that is $17T in debt cannot take on the world, particularly when we have American citizen children hungry and parents out of work. Stop the madness, put America back to work by ending the stifling government activities and let's get our sovereignty back. Jefferson said that a country without borders is no longer a country. He was right. Take charge of the Southern border now.
