Look, I get it that there are problems with the current rules and that they need to be changed. Congress critters shouldn't be accused anonymously of something and not be given a chance to clear themselves of a false report where it is costly both in terms of dollars and reputation to do. But to make that the very first thing they try to do at night after doing practically nothing worthwhile while they chose to do nothing while Obama was President is the height of both arrogance and stupidity. And it doesn't make Americans confident right from the start that these guys have learned anything or really want to change the way things are done.
How about first handling the major issues that you claim to support? And how about also supporting the constitutional amendment proposal jointly developed by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Representative Ron DeSantis of Florida which would, if ultimately ratified, result in Senators being limited to two six year terms and Congresspersons to three two year terms? If we had term limits in place, your concern with the internal graft and corruption issues would likely be overcome by events because you wouldn't be in office long enough the create the power base which has led to so much corruption in Washington that we find today. Pretty simple, don't you think?
Think about what your responsibilities are to those who elected you first. If you don't, it's likely that there is a new Sheriff in town named Donald who will likely remind you and make your life miserable if you don't. It's also my guess that none of you have the fortitude to stand up to him. Act accordingly and help make America great again instead of being part of the problem.
