Think about it and respond accordingly. When we feel blue, open the heart and think instead about how we want to do well this week and leave no problems unsolved so that we can have an even more carefree weekend on the next one. Then with an open heart, bring forward to the thinking process all the blessings that we have and realize what it is we must do to maintain them. Sure, focusing our brain on the task at hand is important, but when we add an open heart with the Holy Spirit flowing within us and guiding us in accomplishing the tasks we do, the challenge becomes much more doable and we are successful. We must train ourselves when we feel blue to just shoo those feelings away and replace them with something beautiful and watch how it has its impact. It takes some discipline, but it gets results when we do it and otherwise we just sink lower and lower when the blues take hold and grab us.
God gave each of us gifts to use in our lives. We need to use them to the fullest and ask Him for guidance in doing so. He is more than happy to oblige since He loves us and wants us to succeed. But it is also important to Him that we take the step of realizing we need Him and actively enlisting His support. In return, He asks that we acknowledge who He is and accept Him as our Lord and follow Him as the center of our lives. It's a fair request and one which will guarantee no more blue Mondays will come our way. So, have a bright and positive rest of your Monday and let the Son shine in.
