Even worse, the easily manipulated group of Republican Establishment types have no problem with destroying people in that effort with the latest case in point being their absurd "jumping on the bandwagon" against Attorney General Jeff Sessions, an honorable supporter of the Constitution, a man who believes in government by laws not man, and a man who was even an Eagle Scout in his youth. They have mostly been silent as the Democrats attempt to keep the ridiculous "Russia Story" alive; they have now tried to say that Sessions lied about his contact with Russian leaders even though in his testimony during his confirmation hearings, a reading of his answers to questions about it were right on the mark. He was asked if he ever talked with the Russians about the Trump campaign and he clearly stated that he had not. He talked with the Russians in his role as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, something that most Senators in such a position routinely do and legally so. The key, and this was glossed over by the media in passing, is the point about the campaign and that didn't apply to his Senate position.
And those lowly Establishment Republicans, the likes of McCain (Arizona), Graham (South Carolina), Rubio (Florida), Portman (Ohio) and others in the Senate, have now done nothing to support their former fellow Senator, opting instead to run with information that is based on hearsay and has not been vetted. Anonymous leaks to Washington politicians and others always looking to advance their personal fortunes were bought hook, line and sinker by men in the Senate who should clearly know better. None should ever hold elected office any longer, plus all of the Democrats, excepting Joe Manchin (West Virginia), who refused to support it.
The House also has many Republicans who are no better, with none any worse than camera hungry Jason Chaffetz of Utah, assuming the worst as he makes the rounds selling a good man out and demanding investigations for which there is not even any evidence.
And this takes us to the heart of the matter which no one is talking about, but it offers what is really the scandal that should be exposed.
In a town that leaks like a broken pipe, the Obama Administration did something in the twilight of is Administration that is at the heart of the matter. They changed the rules on release of intelligence data, allowing the National Security Agency, the source of most of the major classified data with its complex data gathering equipment and large professional staff, to release data to all the other agencies without it being thoroughly vetted first. And what's more, it can do so without the full protection of privacy controls enacted, meaning that any leaker in the huge complex of agencies could do what obviously just happened here, regardless of what it might do to a private citizen or a United States Senator by corrupt means for an evil purpose. This is what needs to be investigated, not Jeff Sessions, but that is a matter for separate discussion.
And speaking of special investigations and even Special Prosecutors, both of which good old Democrat Chuck Schumer of New York has called for, why not deal with all the scandals from BD (Before Trump)hanging out there like ripe fruit? You know, issues like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the sale of twenty-percent of our uranium to Russia, the IRS, just to name a few, or even the use of American dollars and Obama campaign staff resources to try and influence the Israeli re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu, which failed. This could be interesting, don't you think?
Wake up, America, and face reality. All of these things were going on in the lead up to the Trump election and we know who was in charge of the Administration at that time and it wasn't Trump or the Republicans. Let's look at the real issue, not the Fake News manufactured by those who are never willing to come out and face the music.
