I must admit, this seems odd to me for every time someone tries to talk truth to the so-called racial problem in America they get shot full of holes and told they are racists. And we all know that the root cause of so much of this is political correctness. From a nation founded under God and a desire to live by truth, we have morphed into a society where somehow truth must be tailored so that no one's feelings are hurt and we must not mention God since it might be objectionable to a few in a crowd of millions. This is what the Left does to those who disagree with them: they try to compartmentalize them into categories of extremists and/or racists. And no one is better at trying to use this tactic than our nation dividing President and his sidekick, Eric Holder.
Yesterday on ABC, Holder was at it again. He said that voter identification laws are just a way to make it difficult for those who aren't supportive of the Republican Party to exercise the vote. He singled out the young, African Americans, Hispanic and older people as ones subject to disparate impact from these laws, further saying that they couldn't afford the hardship of getting a recognized picture identification.
Let' see, folks, to get into the Democratic Convention, to get food stamps and welfare you must prove who you are but somehow Holder thinks that making sure that only the person who is identified positively is allowed to vote is unacceptable. And many complaints have been forwarded to the Justice Department but, of course, they choose not to investigate because the result wouldn't jive with their agenda. We're the only nation in the free world that operates like this and, further, since these supposed discriminated people can identify themselves properly for so many other things make it clear that obtaining a valid identification document is easy.
Apply a little common sense and it's obvious that voter identification has nothing to do with discrimination; it has everything to do with making sure that voting is honest. For Holder to say otherwise is just some more of the politically correct mumbo jumbo that we see these days and it is all used to make sure that they can stuff the ballot box. It's very similar to the gun control argument where every time a gun incident is perpetrated by someone it is with a gun not owned by the perp, yet the Left uses this to blame it on all legal gun holders who have followed the letter of the law.
The only way to attack this perversion by the Left and fight back is by continually telling the truth. Be strong, be brave and speak out with truth. Truth will shine through if enough of us use it; it's when we are silent and allow the mythology of the Left to spread unchecked that we see our freedom of speech and action coming at risk. Remember, if you stand silent when you know something is wrong and do nothing, you are complicit in the end result.
Deep in our hearts I think we all know what is wrong and I think we know what we must do. The question becomes, are we up to the task? Will we demand openness and honesty in debate and action or will we just allow our special republican form of democracy to wither and die? The choice is up to us. Let's make the right choice.
