The Republicans ran in the off-year election saying that they would fight Obama's policies and I have no doubt that most of those newcomers who ran and won feel that way. Yet, in another now commonplace way to grab defeat from the jaws of victory, the two leaders of the new majorities in both Houses of Congress, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, have made it clear that the lame duck Congress will take the big issues off the table before the new Congress has its opportunity. How? By betraying us and caving in to Obama.
Speaker Boehner has been angling for this forever, after all, he is just following the wishes of his masters in the Chamber of Commerce, an organization that has teamed with La Raza to gain amnesty for illegals by hook or by crook. And as for Mr. McConnell, after running for reelection on a take back the country theme he caved the day after reelection by taking a fight off the table.
I am disgusted and feel absolutely betrayed. And I don't know what the solution is to returning America to what it should be. But I do know this much: I will never, ever trust the Republican Establishment again and I will not support their positions because they are not to be trusted whatever they say. It's time to ponder options and see if there is something new that must be done for obviously they don't care what we think. After all, the only thing we've ever done for them is to elect them but, then again, that's all they've ever wanted us for.
I'll be back with more thoughts on the subject later but I have to think things through when I'm thinking clearly. For now, I just have to get the sour taste out of my mouth. The thought of the lies and deceptions of the Party have created that taste and it's like a bottle of wine gone bad.
May God help America. He's our only real hope. Now it's time to get my thinking cap on.
