Good old John McCain, the Republican Senator from Arizona who seems to stand against all things Conservative these days made a fool of himself in public for which his sidekick, South Carolina's Lindsey Graham, had to offer an apology. Since John has a well known penchant in Capitol Hill circles for anger and rudeness, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He's done it to the Tea Party and Ted Cruz but now he has done it directed at a group of Syrian Christian leaders visiting the legislative branch to tell their side of what is going on in Syria.
It seems that a meeting was being held for the Christians to report on the abuse they have been receiving from Muslim elements in Syria, including those supposed "freedom fighters" who McCain avidly supports. Upon realizing what was going on in one of the meeting halls, McCain allegedly stomped in and threw a "hissy fit', then stormed out like a three year old child who didn't get his way. He returned later but, according to Geller's source, he would not make contact with any of the visitors.
Once again, McCain is on the wrong side of the issue. He is supporting members of the Al Nori group as well as Al Qaeda terrorists who are fighting against Bashir Assad. Assad, however, does not go after Christians who are peaceful and they have always been able to maintain a reasonable level of stability. I am no fan of Assad and would like to see him out of power, but the course that McCain insists on is one that will not result in peace, since Al Qaeda is dead set against peaceful coexistence with Israel. Further, they have indicated they plan to wipe out all Christians and to date have been guilty of heinous crimes including rape, mutilation and death of Christians. This is just being swept aside by McCain as he sees it as mere collateral damage from the fight. The group has no desire to live peacefully with Christians and Jews.
The man is getting bad advice, having selected to fill an advisory role, Elizabeth O'Bagy, the former political director of the Syrian Emergency Task Force, a force advocating for the Syrian rebels that really has no love for America. They merely see us as a useful tool, and O'Bagy was appointed as an advisor to McCain even though she was not the objective analyst that she claimed to be. She had even been fired from a job for this reason. This meant nothing to him as he hired her anyway.
John McCain seems to take the wrong side on lots of issues, from immigration to the budget to the judgment of Barack Obama. Remember, when he ran for President he had every opportunity to criticize Obama's extreme left view but refused to do so just like Mitt Romney, with the result being another wasted Republican campaign.
Recently, the Arizona Republican Party has censured him for not supporting their issues and goals. McCain just laughed it off as if it was a badge of honor. Actually, John, your actions and behavior are a dishonor to the people you are supposed to represent. It's also ironic that you like to talk about the Senate and the requirement for comity when you embarrass yourself frequently with your outlandish comments. I guess you are just another "do as I say and not as I do" proponent. No wonder you get along with President Obama so well.
The bottom line on John McCain, America: it's time for him to go him. I honor him for his military service but not for what he does in Washington. Go back to your beautiful Arizona ranch and enjoy your later life, John. You need some rest and America needs for you to come down off your pedestal. You are, after all, just a mere mortal like the rest of us.
